This week in 1/ 2 BT some children chose to do a persuasive text about why bullying must be stopped. They saw this topic as being very important for children their age to write about. Some of their arguments were focussed around the thought that if you bully others “you will hurt someone”, and then “people will feel awful”.
Other students chose to point their argument towards the bullies by saying that “no one will be your friend anymore,” if they continue that behaviour.
One student finished their argument off with the phrase “Bullying is bad because people won’t feel welcome (at school) anymore” which says a lot about their understanding of feeling safe at school.
The underlying messages running through all their writing were clearly that bullying is never okay and must be stopped.
