This is what else we have been doing in health (bullying):
- We looked at resilience and bouncing back. This is the website that we worked on:
- http://www.embracethefuture.org.au/kids/index.htm,
- the 5/6s took the quiz and found some effective ways to bounce back after being upset or bullied.
- We also read a book, which had ways to cope with bullying.
- In addition, on bitstripsforschools.com, students made comics about bullying. Something that the teachers found out was: that every comic, already published just had the coping strategy of “telling the teacher or adult”. So, we came up with more ideas.
- These ideas included not giving up, staying positive, move on and believe in yourself. Other things were not to let the bully be proud of what they have done, such as: don’t react (because that’s what they want you to do), make a joke out of it, be kind or just be ridiculous.
